Marlborough Street in Boston’s Back Bay with buried cars during superstorm “Nemo”

I went out for a stroll early Saturday morning, February 9, 2013 — the day after the massive Nor’Easter tagged Nemo came to town. The “blizzicane” (certified blizzard with hurricane speed wind gust at times) dumped a bit more than two feet of snow on Boston and was just starting to wind down when I shot these in my neighborhood, Boston’s Back Bay. Several of these shots capture a bit of the beautiful stillness that was Boston Saturday morning. Others do a decent job of conveying the gusty cold feeling of being out in the storm, while portraying the desolate mood of deserted, but beautiful, snow filled streets.

Mood for a Day

Winter sun filtered through thin clouds, peaking through snow covered branches.  Elmwood Park, Omaha.  I went out in the snow and took a few photos when I was home over the holidays.  Elmwood park is just a couple blocks from the family homestead — my playground growing up.   I’ve also tossed in a couple other winter photos of the park taken during trips home the past few years.
